Fusion weddings blend old culture and new

When Afsaneh Zolfaghari got married to Andrew Ashcroft at San Francisco City Hall in October, she wanted the affair to be glamorous -- and to draw from her multiethnic background.

An American with Iranian and Filipino roots, Zolfaghari, 28, chose for her reception an exquisite gold gown that made her look like a princess straight out of a fairy tale. Her dress, sewn by a designer who is half-Iranian, was made of silk and satin and layered with netting. It was embellished with sequins, stones and shiny zardozi beads from India. Read More...
